Imagine the surprise when workers showed up at the tennis courts and told nearby neighbors they were going to remove a tennis court and install pickleball courts! Danny Abrams hired them. There was no chance for public comment. And the board had not yet voted to install pickleball courts. And, the BCHOA newsletter stated that the tennis courts were to be resurfaced- no mention of pickleball. Tennis is a relatively quiet sport. The tennis courts have never been controversial.
Pickleball is noisy!
The new courts are only a few feet from owner's property lines! One property owner said pickleball play can be heard in every room of their home.
Studies have shown pickleball courts in close proximity to residential properties can reduce home values.
Fortunately, upon hearing surrounding neighbors were upset, nearly all residents of BC vowed not to use the pickleball courts. Considerate neighbors agree, no neighbor should be disenfranchised for the enjoyment of others. It's not ethical...
Danny Abrams, President of BCHOA and his friends play pickleball frequently. They even bring a boom box!!!
Tennis court should be restored without further debate.
Let's get back to organized play (previously interrupted by Covid). All ages and skill levels are welcome. Click here to join a BC Tennis group.
